A little about me

Behind the stories

Hi, I’m Leah.

My name is Leah. I'm a wifey, daughter, auntie, mom to three furry critters, and author-in-progress! My full time career has been a Licensed Professional Counselor for the past 17 years, while my secret full time obsession has been publishing a novel for... longer than I'm willing to admit! But here we are! The novel is well on its way, and I'm excited to have you along for the journey.

Random Fun facts about me:

  1. I love the fact that I'm getting wrinkles and gray hair. I think aging is beautiful and doesn't have to be a scary thing. I'm just as excited about this stage of my life as I was at 20 years old because I believe in a God that uses every season for growth, more love, and more healing (even in the hard times).

  2. I loved reading as a child, teen, and adult- especially if the book had magic in it. And romance, obviously... I mean, you gotta have a good love thread in there, amiright?!? I also love binging a good period drama, historical war story (random, I know), wild and fantastic adventure, or gritty crime drama/thriller (but only if it has some sort of beautiful character development or at least a shred of hope at the end).

  3. I have a weird fascination with real life wilderness survival TV. I absolutely love them. Alone, Survivorman, Naked and Afraid, Outlast, anything with Bear Grylls (I love you Bear Grylls. Please read this and be my friend lolololol)... I would have ZERO ability to survive in the wild, mostly because bugs would tear the flesh from my body the instant I set foot in the wild... But I deeply enjoy watching others do it!

  4. I love most foods except for blue cheese. Gross.

  5. I try to infuse hope into my books, mostly because of the hope I have through Christ, and the hope He gives me for anyone struggling in deep pain or suffering. Pain isn't the end; it's just a really crappy chapter (Believe me. I know from personal experience. A LOT of personal experience...) Keep reading. The book gets better (metaphorically speaking).

  6. I live in Georgia, but I'm originally from Michigan, and I deeply miss the snow. RIP snowdays.

  7. I like a little bit of coffee with my creamer. Come at me.
